In 1310, the last major of Sierre founded and built a chapel dedicated first to Saint-Théodule, then to Sainte-Catherine. It became a parish church in 1331.
The choir, built in 1524, is characterised by its ribbed vaults. The nave, rebuilt in 1721, is covered with a cross vault. Remains of the original mural painting can also be seen in the Saint-Antoine chapel to the south.
