Beyond the difficulty of coping with the workload of a preparatory class and staying there... this film explores the social differences within these elite training courses, and the pernicious cruelty of the so-called dominant class. It's an uphill battle for the young heroine, brilliantly portrayed by Suzanne Jouannet! We love this student's tenacity and her unique way of rising to the challenge.

Synopsis
Sophie is a brilliant schoolgirl. Encouraged by her maths teacher, she leaves the family farm to study science in a preparatory class. Through encounters, successes and failures, and in the face of fierce competition, Sophie realises that her dream of entering Polytechnique is more than just a competition... it's a real challenge to climb the social ladder.
